This school year’s sixth graders had an orientation on May 21. We had volunteer high school students who held booth's for different activities ranging from basketball to FCCLA (Family Career and Community Leaders of America). At the orientation they had any questions they wanted to ask answered by staff and they signed up for groups and sports they find an interest in. One thing most of the sixth graders said was looking forward to the freedom of having time between classes and having study halls and athletics. A few of the classmates even said they’d be scared of the big kids. The new seventh graders will have yet another orientation during the summer approaching the school year. This orientation the student can bring a few family members are invited to show and help the kids find their classrooms and move efficiently between classes. The students also get into their lockers, papers, along with their class schedule and information about any groups they wanted to join.
