6/5/2018 0 Comments See You Next Year! From the members of the Jaguar Journal
The Jaguar Journal, (or you may know it as that annoying email you get every morning) is coming to an end for this year. The Jaguar Journal team has been working hard all year to bring you your beloved news. The journalism team writes to inform you on all of the school activities that are taking place here at HFHS. This year many of the student reporters (Anders Prater, Avery Degerstrom, Abby Painovich, Killeen Prater, Kenidy Cessna, Rachel Painovich, Siarra Kubesh, and Todd Thomas.) have written arcticles about numerous events throughout the school year. The news team began in September with just a couple students and one teacher who was determined to make the daily news more interesting and to provide a student perspective on the things that were happening in our school. Journalism student, Anders Prater talked about how the club got started saying, “The Daily Announcements last year were very disorganized and people weren’t reading them so I decided if I wanted the announcements to change I should change them myself.” The Jaguar Journal began with the daily where we sent our own news each morning and eventually it evolved into the weekly as we began sending out larger articles at the end of the week. Throughout the course of the year, the skills of the members also evolved. Abby Painovich comments that she has “learned very many skills that [she] expects to use all throughout [her] life. It was a very beneficial and fun experience!” The news team tries to report to you in new fun ways experimenting with different things. These things include, video documentaries, articles, and we have started to put together a podcast that will be debut next year. Next year, the Jaguar Journal is hoping to continue to bring you news next year as well as to expand greatly in the ways stories are reported on as well as the number of members that make up the Jag Journal. We are looking for anyone interested in media production, photography, reporting, cinematography and anything else that can help the daily news next year. If you are interested in Joining the Jaguar journal, journalism will be offered as a class next year so you can talk to Ms Mykkanen or Mrs. B Anderson.
