Last week on Tuesday the Varsity Baseball team played their final game of the season. They defeated Pine City, which placed them at the top of the great river conference. This was the first time the Jaguars won the great river conference with Jay Kreger as the head coach. They finished the season with only one loss in conference play and entered the subsection tournament seeded second. The boys won their first playoff game game a dominant 10-0 game against Mcgregor. They went on to play Ogilvie where they put together another ten run shutout. The boys batted well in both games but had a few errors in each. Then last night the Jags came out to face the Braham Bombers for the sub-section championship, they faced a pitcher that Coach Jay Kreger called, “The best pitcher we’ve seen all year.” and still managed to scratch out four hits and three runs to win 3-0. The team played excellent defense that backed up Tavis Vissers outstanding pitching performance. The victory is sending the Jags to the section tournament next monday where they will play Pine River Backus.
