“So far I've gotten my skills back super easily and no injuries,” says Senior gymnast, Christeva Perrotti who began her season last week. Gymnastics has started up and although they don’t have a meet until January, they will be working hard all throughout December in hopes of starting their season out strong. The RPHF Flamingos are looking to conquer their competitors this season. They will have a strong team with 3 returning varsity all-arounders, Christeva Perrotti, Kianna Helmin and Livia Isackson-Rod, who also double as great role model for the younger athletes. This will be a key factor in their season, they need strong leaders in order to have a strong team. Come meet time, head coach Sam Isackson comments that the “team’s strengths are floor and beam.” She goes on to say that “individually, Christeva Perrotti will also be a strong competitor on bars.” They do plan to just dive right into the season however. They will go into the season with a couple goals in mind. As a team they are working on perfecting their technique and will do so by building off of the gymnasts’ skills from season. Christeva Perrotti also has a goal in mind. She tells us that the team is already super close but she looks forward to bonding with them and just having fun in general. The Flamingos will face some tough competitors later on in their season. For their first meet of the season they will face North Branch which from past years has proven to be a of good competition for the team. Coach Isackson comments on the matter saying, “We are looking forward to competing with North Branch although they are one of the harder teams, the gymnasts know each other.” “To competing some new skills and having a positive season,” is what Coach Isackson replied when we asked what they were looking forward to this season. All things considered, the Flamingos should be very successful this season. They will have a strong group of leaders that are willing to work hard and push themselves as well as their teammates to be their very best. “Having fun and giving it my all; it's my last year,” is what Christeva Perrotti is looking forward to.
